التعريف بالدكتور زكريا عبد الهادي
يشغل زكريا عبد الهادي منصب أستاذ مساعد في الفكر والثقافة الإسلامية في كلية الشريعة والدراسات الإسلامية في جامعة قطر، وهو حاصل على درجة الدكتوراة في الثقافة الإسلامية من جامعة غلاسكو (1997) في الوقت الذي كان يعمل فيه كنائب لرئيس مجلس تمثيل الطلاب (SRC)، كما رُشِّح لـ "جائزة الخريجين الشباب" لعام 2006. وقد عمل الدكتور عبد الهادي كزميل باحث في جامعة غلاسكو ثم في جامعة أبيرتاي قبل أن يقرر الانتقال إلى المنطقة العربية للعمل في الإمارات العربية المتحدة ومن ثمَّ قطر.
قدم عبد الهادي العديد من البحوث في المؤتمرات الدولية وظهرت له عدة أبحاث باللغتين العربية والإنكليزية في مجلات دولية، فبحثه ينصب في القضايا الحرجة مثل المرأة المسلمة، والصورة الإسلامية في المناخ السياسي الحالي، واضلاع الطلاب القطريين بالثقافة الإسلامية، والمعتقدات الإسلامية وتأثيرها على العمل التطوعي، والمسلمين في المملكة المتحدة وغيرها.
للدكتور عبد الهادي خبرة واسعة في إدارة المشاريع البحثية التي تدعمها جامعة قطر والصندوق الوطني لرعاية البحث العلمي. وقد شغل في جامعة قطر عدة مناصب قيادية مثل رئيس قسم الثقافة الإسلامية في الدهوان، وعضوا في العديد من اللجان على مختلف مستويات النظام الداخلي للجامعة، بالإضافة إلى أنشطته الأكاديمية. وقدم عبد الهادي العديد من البرامج الإذاعية باللغتين العربية والإنكليزية في المملكة المتحدة، بالإضافة إِلى ظهوره المعتاد كضيف في العديد من القنوات التلفزيونية الفضائية والمحطات الإذاعية مثل الجزيرة الإنكليزية وراديو شيكاغو العام وراديو قطر.
About Dr. Zakaryya Abdel-Hady
Zakaryya Abdel-Hady is an Associate Professor of Islamic thought and culture in the College of Shariʿa and Islamic studies at Qatar University. He holds a PhD in Islamic culture from the University of Glasgow (1997) where he served as the Vice President of the Students Representative Council (SRC) and was nominated for the “Young Alumnus of the Year Award” in 2006. Abdel-Hady worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow and then at the University of Abertay before he decided to move to the Arab region to work in UAE and Qatar.
Abedl-Hady presented many papers in international conferences and published numerous research, in both Arabic and English, in international journals. His research to date has treated critical issues, such as Muslim women, the Muslim image in the current political climate, Qatari students’ knowledge of the Islamic culture, Islamic beliefs and their impact on voluntary action, Muslims in the UK, etc. Beyond his research activities and interests, Dr. Abdel-Hady has vast experience in managing research projects that Qatar University and Qatar National Research Fund collaboratively support. At Qatar University, Abdel-Hady held several leadership positions, such as the Chair of the Department of Daʿwah and Islamic Culture, and sat on many committees at different levels of the university’s internal system.
In addition to his academic activities, Abdel-Hady presented and produced several Arabic and English Radio programs in the UK. He is also a regular guest at several television satellite channels and radio stations, such as Al-Jazeera English, Chicago Public Radio, and Qatar Radio.
